This release brings the 1st Generation Scarlett Range, iTrack Solo and Saffire 6 USB 2.0 up to the same driver versions as the 2nd and 3rd Generation Scarlett ranges and the Clarett USB range.ġst Generation Scarlett 6i6, 8i6, 18i6, 18i8 and 18i20 continue to be supported by Scarlett Mix Control 1.10.ĭelivering stable driver performance is one of our highest priorities. See if that works. We recently released our latest Windows USB driver (version 4.63.23) which supports the following devices:

If you're using a USB Hub, try to disconnect your Scarlet 2i2 from it and connect it directly into your PC USB port. PS.the sound cut out and came back in, like, 4 times while I was typing this! :OI had the same issue. I can't see this solution been resolved with user tweaks and really require the hardware provider to step-up, admit the flaw, and do something about it! Unfortunate for those who may not have the budget to do this. This is what it COULD be, just a suggestion.įortunately I will be handing this unit to my mum and buying a Yamaha on Monday. I suspect it is related to the DAC's themselves, and perhaps a crappy clock is used and the DAC is falling out of sync. I will run some more tests on the USB port to check.

I too have a very souped up machine, 32GB RAM, 3.4G Kaby Lake CPU, so yeah, I would call hardware too.Īs an experienced software developer, this sounds like more than just a driver issue. I set buffer to 1024, I have been listening to it for about 10 mins and no pops yet.

I should have bought the Yamaha.!!!Īnyway, I had a look at the screen shot and my control panel only has two settings: sample rate and buffer. Hey guys, disappointed to hear the bad news :( although not surprised. PS.the sound cut out and came back in, like, 4 times while I was typing this! :O I've ruled out that it's a faulty 2i2 unit, as I had the unit replaced and no change.Īny idea what's going on here? I am at my wit's end! Something tells me that my laptop's 4 USB 3.0 ports are to blame.something about how they are communicating with my Focusrite devices (I've problems with both this 2i2 AND my Forte, which has currently been sent in to be replaced). I'm sorry, Focusrite, but these driver issues have happened with almost any piece of Focusrite/Novation gear I have ever owned, and it is super frustrating.Īnyhow.my laptop is an HP Envy TS 15 Notebook.

Their products are high quality but their drivers are, in a word, CRAP (so.I guess that makes their products not-so-high-quality). I've almost thrown in the towel with Focusrite. You can imagine how maddening this is, when it just happens so arbitrarily and often.

Whenever it happens in Pro Tools, I have to restart the session. But it always eventually happens and it is driving me NUTS. Sometimes this happens every minute or few minutes, and sometimes it doesn't happen for a while. Basically, the sound just completely cuts out periodically, then comes back maybe 2 seconds later. This is an ongoing problem with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 of mine.
